Construction Status

August Report

  • The permanent power connection was energized on 7/7/2010.
  • UNEC and Fawaz the MEP contractors are working in co-ordination with the facility managers (MAB) and are well advanced with the final sign off of the air conditioning, fire fighting system, evacuation system and the swimming pool.
  • MAB the facility management company only accept handover of the MEP aspects of the building from the contractors and consultants upon satisfactory completion of testing and commissioning.
  • UNEC has completed all the civil works snags in all the units and the common areas; now they are attending to the owner’s snag lists with the whole process carefully controlled and monitored.

July Report

  • All cabling works to and from the substation are complete
  • Landscaping disturbed by cabling works has been reinstated
  • Mains water connection is scheduled for first few days of July

June Report

  • The upgrade works on the penthouses are in well advanced and the full works will be completed by end of June.
  • Upon power connection:
    1. Final testing and commissioning will commence most specifically the air conditioning, IT infrastructure and MEP testing.
    2. Plant and machinery operational handover to facilities manager.
    3. Reinstatement of landscaping to resolve the disturbance caused by the cable laying
    4. Commencement of pre-opening deep-cleaning of building.

May Report

  • UNEC has completed the final de snagging works.
  • DEWA's contractor has started laying the cables; Dubai Sports City has confirmed the works will be completed and power connected in 18 days.

April Report

  • The RTA has provided the NOC to Dubai Sports City and Dubai Electricity and Water Authority and DEWAs approved contractor has commenced laying the cables.
  • Works to provide permanent power connection are expected to be completed within 8 weeks and every effort is being made by all parties to reduce this timescale.
  • UNEC have completed final de snagging works up to the 7th floor.
